Best Selling Books
Reading the best selling books is
one of the smartest things I've ever done.
I didn't grow up as an avid reader
of books. In fact, it wasn't until I started my selling career that I got hooked
on books - especially the ones about selling.
Today I'm a voracious reader and
I want to share some of the best books (Or related to selling) that
have helped me and I'm sure they will help you too.
Some are old classics and some are
hot off the press. From time to time I'll add to this list of books I'm recommending.
Funny thing about reading good books.
The more you read the smarter you'll become.
Here's the list:
Made To Stick by
Chip Heath and Dan Heath
Did you ever wonder why some ideas
survive and others die? Well the heath brothers did and have written a marvelous
book about how to make your ideas stick. This book is must reading for entrepreneurs
and salespeople.
How I Raised Myself From
Failure To Success In Selling by Frank Bettger
This book was written in 1947 by
a heck-of-a-salesman. There are so many nuggets of gold in this book you'll
think you're in a gold mine. Lots of practical ideas.
What Clients Love
by Harry Beckwith
As the title implies Harry delivers
a long list of practical ideas that every sales person can benefit from. This best selling book delivers dozens of ideas every saless rep can use.
Endless Referrals
by Bob Burg
This book is all about how you can
network your everyday contacts into more sales. The book features a new Profit
Funnel System. I know Bob personally and it's a good book. It belongs on your
book shelf.
Blink by Malcolm
Gladwell
Malcolm also was the author of another
fabulously successful book titled "The Tipping Point." This book is
all about the power of thinking without thinking. The author draws on cutting-edge
neuroscience and psychology.
The Ultimate Sales Letter
by Dan Kennedy
Dan is one of the brightest marketing
minds on the planet. I personally have invested thousands of dollars in his
books and programs. If you're writing sales letters, you might want to get this
book.
The Irresistible Offer
by Mark Joyner
The premise of the book is simple.
You'll learn how to sell your products or service in 3 seconds or less.
Phrases That Sell
by Edward Werz and Sally Germain
This book is the ultimate phrase
finder to help you promote your products, services, and ideas. I use this book
often - it's a good resource.
Words That Sell by
Richard Bayan
This is another tremendous resource
for salespeople. You use words everyday - why not use the best. This is a thesaurus
to help you sell and promote your products, services, and ideas.
The Elements Of Style
by William Strunk and E.B. White
While this isn't a best selling book
it's a resource for anyone who writes and that includes entrepreneurs and salespeople.
There's a section on commonly misused words. This book has it all including
style and substance.
Discover Your Genius
by Michael Gelb
This is one of my favorite books.
In fact I like it so much I've given more than 150 away as gifts. The
book is about how to think like history's ten most revolutionary minds.
The Monk Who Sold His Red
Ferrari by Robin Sharma
This guy is good. He knows how to
tell a story and make a point. This book is a fable about fulfilling your dreams
and reaching your destiny. You can't put it down.
Time Management From The
Inside Out by Julie Morgenstern
I've read so many books on time management
and I even wrote one myself. This is a good read and offers a foolproof system
for taking control of your schedule and your life.
