I too see a lot of people stumbling with words, I sometimes check back with the customers others have had no business created with, I have a place in the office where they can put what they call bad leads.
Then I go, I introduce myself as a security consultant with ADT, simply acknowledge the fact that they were approached by a "sales person" and ask if they had questions, or an issue that wasn't taken of - in about half the people I approach and listen to, I help them get the information that THEY need, and thus, help schedule a time for their system can be installed.
A lot of sales people whine about the recession. I know that most people want and need what I offer, It's about helping them, not just making the sale.
Plus when you provide a good service, they usually offer a few referrals.Keep on keeping on.
