Notes from the field

by Diane Wolf
(Phoenix Az)

I am here to share what I have learned from being employed in sales for the last six years or so.

It doesnt seem like a long time but I took to it very quickly and excelled wherever I went.

Briefly I will highlight my work experience - I worked at The Olive Garden restaurant for five years and I was known for my ability to upsell and sell alcohol - increasing my check averages therefor increasing my tips!

I was a top performer at University of Phoenix online where I enrolled more students than 98% of the company. I was a legend and I worked nights so nobody would be able to recognize me - furthering the mystique.

I always found selling easy because I don't think of it as selling at all. I just talk to people and find out what need or better yet - I find out what they want before they know they want it.

I treat people like old friends - just happy to see them. Hope my experience helps someone somewhere who may not know where to start. -D
