Getting Referrals Is Easy
Hey - my good friend Art Sobczak just released this week's
newsletter. If you don't know Art - he's Mr. Telephone.
The follwoing excerrpt is from the current issue of Art's
Newsletter.
You need to ask the right people at the right time and
here's how to do it.
A life insurance sales rep called me, gave a horrible
opening
("I'm with ____ insurance, and would like to schedule a time to
get together with you to discuss your life insurance. Would two
or four o'clock be better on Tuesday?") After telling him I wasn't
interested, he said,
"I see. Do you have any friends I could contact?"
I answered that with about the same enthusiasm as I would
an IRS agent saying, "So, do you have any friends I can audit?"
So who IS the right person, and when is the right
time?
Common sense--and experience--tells me it's someone who
just bought from you, or complimented you on your products
or services.
They're in a frame of mind where they're thinking
about how good you are, and how they gained from what you
provide.
Be on the lookout for, and seize the opportunities
you might encounter every day.
That's good advice from Art.
You can get even more good advice on how to effectively
use
the telephone from his books.

Time Management Tip For Salespeople
Never do a task if there is a more important
one to be done.
Never! Foregoing priorities gets you off track
more than anything else.
Do what's important first because everything
else can wait and should wait to be done.
You'll find another 56 time management tips
for salespeople in my book, "57
Ways To Take
Control Of Your Time And Your Life."
Excuses Begone
What's preventing you from becoming the person
you want to be? It's an interesting question and
you'll gain considerable insight by reading
Dr. Wayne Dyer's new book, "Excuses Begone."
See details here:
Did You Know
Your customers don't buy your products and services.
They buy what your products and services can do for
them. Be sure you sell what they value most.
Get This Book
Just finished reading an incredible sales book
by Chet Holmes. This book will change how

Sales tip 101
Never say "But"
say "And."
The word "But" is argumentative. "However"
is a "But" with a bowtie - avoid it too!
Attitude has everything to do with everything!
Herb Fenner - age 76
There's always a higher hill to climb.
Creston Shaw - age 86
Forgive everyone regardless of what they've done!
Carl Manus - age 78
Never Give Up!
Being knocked down doesn't mean you're knocked out.
The quickest way to recover is to set clearly defined
goals for yourself.
Goals give you purpose. When you add passion to your purpose
you
can expect great things to happen.
Not many people achieve success without experiencing failure.
The difference between Can and Can't is the letter "T"
for
trying.
Never give up - just keep trying . .

Another powerful sales tip for you.
During a sales training class two weeks ago, one
of the participants shared his approach to goal setting.
When he started a new sales position, he immediately
set a goal to sell $1,000,000 in his first year.
Here's what he did to achieve his goal.
He wrote the number $1,000,000 on his rearview mirror.
As you're driving around your sales territory, you're
constantly looking at your rearview mirror.
He looked at his goal so often he had to achieve it and
he did!
A Great Sales Question To Ask Sales Prospects And Customers.
Here's the sales question.
Who's the most memorable sales rep you ever met and why?
Wouldn't you just love to know the answer to this question?
Just ask the question to find out!
Well if you're selling or planning to sell online you'll
need a shopping cart and a website.
The people at SBI (Site Build It) do a phenomenal job
helping people set up their websites.
They make the entire process a no-brainer and you won't
believe the pricing.
